What this is
A small fund and a network of volunteers, supporting Muslim families in the Mid-Western region with practical help when life turns difficult.
We help with:
- Halal grocery vouchers, especially during Ramadan.
- School costs, including uniforms, books, and excursion fees.
- Utility bills during a tough patch.
- Funeral costs, transport, and the small details that surround a loss.
- A friendly visit, a phone call, or someone to sit with you for an afternoon.
The conversation is private. Only the welfare lead and the treasurer see the details. The committee sees totals only.

- Muslim families and individuals in the Mid-Western region.
- Anyone the community refers in trust, regardless of background, where the situation is urgent and we can help.
How to get help
The kindest way is to email or call quietly:

We will reply within one working day. The first conversation is short and gentle: what is happening, what you need, and how we can help. There is no form to fill in before that call.
Where the money comes from
Welfare support is funded by zakat and sadaqah donations, ringfenced from the build fund. The committee reviews spending quarterly. We never name recipients in any public report.

A few common questions
Will anyone know I asked for help?
No. The welfare lead and the treasurer see the details. Their other roles in the community do not include sharing what is shared in confidence.
I do not have ID or a permanent address. Can you still help?
Yes, in most cases. We can usually help with food, transport, and a single bill payment without paperwork. Larger or longer-term help may need a few details.
Can I refer a friend who needs help?
Yes, with their permission. Tell them to email welfare@micc.org.au, or ask if you can pass their contact to us. We will not contact anyone who has not agreed.
