أَهْلًا وَسَهْلًا Plan your visit

Come and visit. The kettle is on.

We are between premises while we raise funds for a permanent home, so visits and Friday prayers run by appointment for now. Drop us a line and we will reply with the address, parking notes, and what to expect.

وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّوا بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَا

“When you are greeted with a greeting, return it with one better.”

— Qur'an 4:86

What to expect

Three small things, before you arrive.

Everything else, we will sort on the day. There is no test, no script, and no wrong question.

Modest dress

Clothing that covers shoulders and knees works for any visitor. Women are welcome to wear their hair as they prefer; many choose a scarf inside the prayer hall.

Shoes off

Shoes come off at the prayer-hall door. We have a rack just inside, and a chair by it for anyone who needs a seat to take them off.

Tea, probably

We will offer you tea. You should accept the tea. This is when most of the conversation happens, and where most of our friendships have started.

Friday Jumu'ah

Thirty minutes, three parts.

The Friday prayer is short, calm, and easy to follow. Children and babies are welcome. Quiet questions afterwards are welcome too.

  1. A short sermon

The khutbah is delivered in English on a current theme. About 15 minutes. You can sit on a chair or on the floor — whichever is comfortable.

  2. A brief congregational prayer

About 5 minutes. Visitors are welcome to sit quietly at the back and watch. There is no expectation to join in.

  3. Tea, biscuits, and conversation

The most important part, and the longest. Stay as little or as long as you like. This is where neighbours become friends.

Would you prefer a quieter time, outside Friday prayers? Just say so when you email and we will arrange a one-to-one visit at a pace that suits you.

Finding us

A map will follow.

We are still raising funds for a permanent home, so we are not publishing a fixed address yet. Once we are settled, you will find here:

  • The walking route from the Mudgee bus stops.
  • Parking advice, including accessible spaces.
  • A nearby cafe, in case you arrive a little early.
Mudgee, NSW · Wiradjuri Country

A map will appear once we have a permanent address.

Get in touch

Tell us when you would like to visit.

A short note about who you are and when you would like to come is plenty. We will reply with the address, parking notes, and what to expect.

Children are welcome. Babies are welcome. Quiet questions are welcome.
