Hero

Title. Women's circle
Lede. A friendly weekly gathering for tea, conversation, and quiet study. New faces welcome every week.

What this is

A relaxed Saturday-morning circle for women in the Mudgee Muslim community and our wider neighbourhood. Each week we share tea, talk about our week, and spend an unhurried hour on a short reading or topic. The conversation finds its own level. Some weeks we go deep on a Quranic verse or a hadith. Other weeks we talk about parenting, gardening, or what to cook for iftar.

Children are welcome. So are women who are not Muslim and want a friendly place to spend a Saturday morning.

Who it's for

  • Women of any age, any background.
  • Muslim and non-Muslim friends and neighbours.
  • Mothers with young children. We have toys.
  • Anyone who wants a calmer Saturday morning than they had last week.

When and where

  • When. Saturday mornings, 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
  • Where. A rotating cluster of homes and hired spaces. Email for the current week's address.
  • Frequency. Most Saturdays of the year. We pause during the last week of Ramadan and on long weekends.

Cost

Free. Bring a small plate of food to share if you can. Tea is provided.

How to join

Email hello@micc.org.au and we will add you to the women's circle email list. You will get a short message every Friday with the next morning's address.

A few common questions

I am new to Mudgee. Will I know anyone?
Probably not, and that is fine. The circle exists partly to make new arrivals feel less alone. Most weeks have a few faces who joined recently.

Do I need to wear hijab?
Up to you. Some women cover, others do not. The space is comfortable either way.

I am not Muslim. Can I come?
Yes, with our warmest welcome. The circle is one of the easiest ways for non-Muslim neighbours to meet our community.
