Title. Open days
Lede. A morning of tea, biscuits, and quiet conversation. Drop in, take a tour, ask anything.
What this is
Four times a year, we open our doors to the wider Mudgee community. Open days are warm, low-key mornings designed for neighbours, classmates, school groups, councillors, and anyone curious about who we are. There is no presentation. There is a long table of food, a few volunteers happy to chat, and time to wander.
We hold open days at the centre when we can, and at a partner venue (the town hall, a school, a council space) when our regular meeting room is too small.
Who it's for
- Anyone in the Mudgee region.
- School groups, with teachers welcome to bring a class.
- Local councillors, journalists, and community organisations.
- People who would never normally walk into a mosque, and would like an easy first time.
When and where
- When. Quarterly. We announce the next open day four weeks in advance via the events page and the local Mudgee newspapers.
- Where. Varies. Each event has its own venue and address, published on the events page.
Cost
Free. Coffee, tea, and food are provided. Bring a curious friend.
What to expect
The morning is yours to wander. A short, friendly tour runs every 30 minutes for those who would like one, with stops at the prayer space, the classroom, and the kitchen. Tours last about 15 minutes and welcome questions throughout.
We will probably offer you something to eat. We recommend you say yes.
How to come
Just turn up on the day. No registration is needed for individuals or families.
For school groups, a quick email to hello@micc.org.au at least a week ahead helps us plan space and refreshments.
A few common questions
Can I bring my children?
Yes, all ages. We have a quiet corner with toys, and the food table is at child height.
Can I bring my dog?
Outside is fine. Inside the prayer space, please leave dogs at the door, except for assistance dogs which are always welcome anywhere on site.
I have allergies. Is the food labelled?
Yes. Each dish has a card listing major allergens. Have a specific concern? Please email ahead and we will check the menu for you.
